2012 Theme Song

New Year's Eve was quite different for me this year. My cousin got married in East TX so my sisters and I ventured back to celebrate their marriage. Typically I spend NYE with all my friends and we celebrate well past midnight.

After the wedding I spent the remainder of the evening with my 2 sisters. Thank God we love each other and just laughed and enjoyed each other's company while watching Carson Daly ring in the New Year in NYC.

Kara (aka: Baby Showout) and I fell in love with Beyonce's song, I Was Here, last night when we heard it performed. I now have a 2012 theme song to go along with my 2012 motto. The words hit a cord with both of us.

How will you leave a mark in 2012?

I WAS HERE- Beyonce

I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time.
Know there was something that, and something that I left behind.
When I leave this world, I'll leave no regrets.
Leave something to remember, so they won't forget.

I was here. I lived, I loved. I was here. I did, I've done, everything that I wanted, and it was more than I thought it would be. I will leave my mark so everyone will know. I was here.

I want to say I lived each day, until I die.

And know that I meant something in, somebody's life.
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I leave.
That I made a difference, and this world will see.

I was here. I lived, I loved. I was here. I did, I've done, everything that I wanted, and it was more than I thought it would be. I will leave my mark so everyone will know. I was here.

I just want them to know That I gave my all, did my best Brought someone to happiness. Left this world a little better just because I was here.

Support Group

I am the oldest of 4 kids. My 2 sisters are my best friends and my biggest fan. I am blessed to have siblings who support and cheer me on, love me unconditionally, accept me for who I am, never judge, offer words of encouragement. I have sisters that build each other up and not try to compete against each other. We are all so different yet so alike. Our differences are what make our friendship so strong. I am blessed to know that I have amazing sisters!

My Feel GREAT List

Quoted from the book Language of Letting Go by Melody Beattie.

Feeling Good:

Make yourself feel good.

It’s our job to first make ourselves feel better and then make ourselves feel good. Recovery is not only about stopping painful feelings; it is about creating a good life for ourselves.

We don’t have to deny ourselves activities that help us feel good. Going to meetings, basking in the sun, exercising, taking a walk, or spending time with a friend are activities that may help us feel good. We each have our list. If we don’t, we’re now free to explore, experiment, and develop that list.

When we find a behavior or activity that produces a good feeling, put it on the list. Then, do it frequently.

Let’s stop denying ourselves good feelings and start doing things that make us feel good.
Today, I will do one activity or behavior that I know will create a good feeling for me. If I’m uncertain about what I like, I will experiment with one behavior today.

After reading this passage I was inspired to write the list below. This is everything (in no particular order) that makes me happy.
