Track Bible

My Dad coached me in track in high school. I learned so much from him! I remember being only 12 years old and going on 3 mile runs around the city. This past weekend I went home and he let me borrow his Running Trax (aka: The Track Bible). This book literally has everything a runner could ever wish for when programming a workout. From interval splits, to rest times, to number of sets, this book has it all. I am excited to take my track workouts to a whole new level! Who's in?

Happy Easter

(picture compliments of Nicole Hughes)

Coach Lisa just posted on Facebook how she's sad we're not doing the Jesus WOD today, and I absolutely agree. That workout was one of the hardest things I've done, and what I would call an athletic religious experience.

If you've never done the workout then I challenge you to read about my experience last year and do it for yourself at some point this weekend.

I am excited to spend the weekend with my family and celebrate my Faith. I know one thing that's for sure...I won't be doing toe-to-bars like the picture above. Texas beaches are in my forecast. How will you spend this Easter weekend?

Food for thought: "Success is always temporary. When all is said and done, the only thing you'll have left is your character."

Solar-Powered

I am well aware it is warmer outside now and soaking up every bit of the sunlight. I have been telling everyone I am solar-powered since I absolutely love the sun and it puts me in such a good mood. However... with the sun comes dehydration if you are not careful.

I tried a new coconut water (pic above) yesterday directly after my workout and loved it. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Pure coconut water. No additives. Refreshing.

From one Sun Goddess to another---stay hydrated!
