Have you seen the brand new Relentless website? We launched the new design yesterday and have already seen an increase in expressed interest in boot camp. I am fired up to watch how small online changes in the Relentless community are going to have a huge impact on Austin.

Are you on Twitter? Follow us @RelentlessCFC to stay up to date with everything going on around town with our 22 boot camps and a chance to win free giveaways.

I am looking for any comments, thoughts, improvements that would take our online community from Good to Great. Email me at meganparsons@crossfitcentral.com with your ideas.

Peace amongst the Craziness

Me & CFC clients/friends at Fight Gone Bad After Party @Dogwood

Today truly did feel like Fall. When I first walked outside I couldn't decide if I was mad about the 60-degree weather (I prefer blazing hot TX weather) or if I was just going to embrace it and have a showout day. I chose the latter.

Looking Good & Avoid Looking Bad...

CFC Women Coaches = SHOWOUTS

I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.- John Rockefeller

I attended Landmark Forum about 2 weeks ago here in Austin. What a whirlwind of a weekend. This was the 1st time in a while that I was seriously forced outside of my comfort zone and shift my paradigm of thought. I was amazed at how my mind can take events that have happened to me and interpret them in a negative hence leading into a vicious, self-defeating cycle if I allow it.

A concept that truly hit home for me was the following: Looking good and Avoid looking bad. To some this may not seem like that big of deal, but to me it was/is an area that has caused me to miss out on such amazing aspects of life. Relationships. Growth in Leadership roles. Competing in events. Taking steps of faith and trusting the outcome.

This week I have been tested in multiple areas of my life. It is easy to take the road of Looking good and Avoid looking bad; however, I refuse to continue live a life where I do no get to experience joy, intimacy, love, and freedom simply because I am too proud. My desire is living life powerfully and living a life I love. The quote above by Rockefeller summed it up for me today. PERSEVERE.

Go Giver

I finished reading the Go Giver last night. Great read! It is a book that most could read in one sitting. The book tells a story about a young business man named Joe and his learning the 5 Laws of Stratospheric Success over a week's time.

The laws are so simple yet so profound. The 3rd law really hit home to me. I have big dreams for my future and the impact Relentless Boot Camps have on Austin, the state of TX, and even the country. I am learning very quickly when you place the interests of others first, your interests will always be taken care of. ALWAYS. Less of me and more of others. Looking out for what others need with the faith that when I do, my needs will be taken care of in return. Basically in line with my mantra---Walk by Faith and not by Sight.

1) THE LAW OF VALUE- Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

2) THE LAW OF COMPENSATION- Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

3) THE LAW OF INFLUENCE- Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people's interests first.

4) THE LAW OF AUTHENTICITY- The most valuable give you have to offer is yourself.

5) THE LAW OF RECEPTIVITY- The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

Which law hits closest home to you?

I need your help.

The athletes in the 8am Tu/Th class at Barton Hills are not afraid to get in the grass and get dirty during a workout. These ladies are RELENTLESS.

I need your help! I am looking for feedback. Why did you choose Relentless Boot Camp over the other boot camps in Austin? Post comments below or email me at meganparsons@crossfitcentral.com.

Stay tuned for upcoming changes to Relentless Boot Camps. Moving from good to GREAT one step at a time.

Act of Kindness

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." -Aesop

Last week was Michele's birthday who is in the NEW 8am Tu/Th Relentless Boot Camp at Barton Hills Elementary. Michele is well on her way to achieving her fitness goals. Consistent. Hard worker. One of the kindest women I have met. I felt appreciated for being invited to a birthday party with only knowing a handful of women, but then given the opportunity to meet and encourage the other ladies that their fitness goals are within reach...only 1 boot camp class away.

Which leads me to the "Slight Edge." I am currently listening to this book on audio. My car has become a ShowMobile University. I am learning all kinds of good stuff every time I turn on the ignition. It definitely makes the driving from 1 boot camp to the next that much more inspiring. Over the past 4 days I realized even more so how critical it is to do the day-to-day things to make any dream a reality. It is easy to think, "Oh, I'll call them back later. Oh, I can skip working out just this week; it won't be a big deal. Oh, I can have just 1 dessert a day and it won't matter. It's just one." NEXT. It is all about the Slight Edge. Over time these habits compound on each other and the result is not what you want. Are you making excuses to justify your own actions. Think about it...

Do you have the Slight Edge?

Perfect Day

"Nothing will work unless you do." - John Wooden

Yesterday I played a game. I answered questions that helped me to visualize my perfect day!! Not a vacation. A day to day life that I believe is a possibility for me. The Perfect Day.

I challenge you to take the time to think about each question and really get emotional about the answers. No limitations, no fears, no constraints.

If you invest the time and truly get real with yourself, you will be amazed at how many of the things in your "perfect day" will actually be common place in real life in less than 6 months. When I finished this exercise I felt loved, blessed, and the happiest woman in the world.

I would love to hear your answers to some or all the questions. Post in the comment section or shoot me an email at meganparsons@crossfitcentral.com. Do the work. Believe in the possibility of your dreams!

PERFECT DAY Questions:

Where do you want to live?

What does your house look like?

What time would you wake up?

What would you do in the morning?

What would you have for breakfast?

What would you spend the first half of the day doing?

What would you have for lunch?

What would your friends be like?

What would you talk about with these friends?

What would you do for personal fulfillment?

What life purpose would you strive towards?

What time would you start work?

What would you actually do at work?

What are your clients like?

What is your relationship like? Or what would you like to have a relationship look like?

What do you do for family time?

What would you have for dinner?

Where would eat dinner?

What would you talk about at dinner?

How would the night wind down?

What are your thoughts as you go to sleep?

The Michelle

Michelle is in my Tu/Th 6:30am Relentless Boot Camp at Deep Eddy Park. Since joining class a year ago, Michelle has lost 15lbs and and 3 pant sizes. She participates in any competition & challenge thrown her way. Michelle has been a part of the Relentless Adventure Challenge, Trojan Challenge, & Women's Only Challenge. She never misses a class, has referred countless friends to our Relentless Boot Camps, and leads by example to her family and friends across the country and in the work place. Michelle is the go-to person in class for keeping up with the online Google.doc food journal. She not only lives the lifestyle of a Relentless athlete but creates the possibility for others to do the same. Check out Michelle's success story from this past December. She consistently kicks butt and continues to improve daily. Michelle is not just a client but also a friend. The workout below is in her honor.

The Michelle-
Run up & down Deep Eddy ramp then lap around parking lot-- she is an IronWoman
3 rounds: for 3 pant sizes
15 med ball slams- for losing 15lbs and she owns her own med ball
15 pushups- she can do pushups on her toes now
15/15 1-arm overhead squats- she loves to hate these!

The Pictures Don't Lie

July 2009

August 2010

Jenifer is in my Tu/Th 6:30am Deep Eddy Relentless Boot Camp. I literally just opened her email with the pictures from above and could not wait to share with everyone. When people say a picture is worth a 1000 words, they could not be more correct. I love even more that she has on the same dress and looks completely different.

Jenifer jumped into Relentless Boot Camp full speed ahead with her very first class in February. She signed up for the Trojan Challenge in May and has not looked back. Shedding 1:20 off her mile time, crushing workouts in class, using a kettlebell like a pro, and losing 11 inches & 10lbs in 3 months, this girl is well on her way. I cannot even wait to see the results on her next body comp in October.

Be on the look out for this girl. She is finishing up the 24 Day Challenge and there will be plenty more updates on her progress over the next few months. As Jenifer and I both said--hoLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLer!!!

Team ShowFlash

Team ShowFlash minus Jen C.

Jen C.- get off your tippy toes =)

View more showout pics HERE.

A handful of CrossFit Central coaches and clients competed in the Zilker Relays on Friday night. This was my 1st time to participate in the event, and I had a total blast. The location is across the bridge from where we have UTB each month. It felt like home. There was music and everyone was having a good time and hanging out. A complete chill event, and the perfect way to kick off Labor Day weekend.

Jen C., Big Mike, Web, and I raced on a team together--Team SHOWFLASH. We got 9th out of 26 teams in our division. As Web put it, Not bad for not being "runners." The event consisted of each team member running 2.5 miles and then passing the band to the next relay member. I ran a 16:55! I was super-pleased with my time. The 4x/week training at SicFit Austin with Big Mike, and my Wednesday interval track workouts are paying off.

One of my goals is to be more involved in the fitness community in Austin. Send me an email if there is an event coming up that myself and the CrossFit Central coaches can participate.

My next event...the Austin 1/2 marathon in February. 1st time ever!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Bear in the House!

I coach an array of clients in my classes. One of my newest boot campers is Max (aka: Bear). He attends the 5:30am Tu/Th Deep Eddy class thanks to his friend & boss, Susan, in the class inviting him. In a months time, he has significantly improved his speed, strength, and flexibility. Bear forwarded me the news clip below from this week, and I thought it was too entertaining not too share. As you can see from the picture above, the airplane ride was an experience in and of itself.

---------------------------------------

Some candidates require a lot of their campaign managers, but Max might not have fully appreciated what he signed up for.

Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson has his own unique campaign style. He sent us the following note about a day on the campaign trail.

Patterson wrote, "As you know I’m traveling around Texas in my 1944 Stinson observation aircraft, which is a genuine “warbird” that was actually flown by the USMC in the 1945 battle of Okinawa. My campaign manager, Max is relegated to the back seat of this 2 seat fabric covered airplane. There’s of course no air conditioning and due the fact that the aircraft with its plexiglass roof gets fairly warm these days its frequently necessary to stick your head out to get some fresh air to avoid “queeziness”."

Do you have a unique story or job adventure? Has CrossFit helped you make it through your everyday duties more at ease? Post comments below.

Barton Hills

Yesterday was the 1st day of the NEW 8am Tu/Th Relentless Boot Camp at Barton Hills Elementary. The ladies pose for a picture after knocking out their benchmark workout of max reps in 1 minute of the following: squats, pushups, and situps. I am fired up to be coaching 5 boot camps all over Austin!

However, one of my future goals is to train up other coaches to be the best in their field. I am on a mission to find 2 motivated, athletic, focused individuals who want to be a coach with Relentless Boot Camp. If you are ready to take your coaching skills, personal growth, and income to the next level at CrossFit Central, then contact me at meganparsons@crossfitcentral.com
