Attitude

"You can begin to shape your own destiny by the attitude that you keep." -Michael Beckwith

Do you view a glass of water as half empty or half full? Do you only see the negative in a bad situation or do you search for the silver lining? Does your attitude suck? I know first-hand that when I roll out of bed each morning that my attitude can dictate my day in a very positive or negative way. Working at CrossFit Central is very different that an 8:00-6:00PM job. I have a flex-schedule---grant it, there are specific times each day that I have to be somewhere to coach; however, the rest of the week is up to me on what I do, how quickly I get it done, and how I can go above and beyond. Pretty nice deal if I say so myself.

This is where attitude is vital. I could take the route of doing the bare minimum to get the job done and stop. Thankfully that is not the way God made me, and why I feel blessed to be in a position where I can dream big, push my limits, learn the art of time management, and kick some butt. I have big goals and dreams for my future! My attitude will shape a destiny that I used to only dream but will now be a reality.

What is your attitude like each week?

I control my destiny...

Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.-- Helen Keller

I remember days when I would dread team meetings at work. The thought would make me cringe. I would get in a bad mood, start complaining, and begin listing in my head all the reasons I was about to waste an hour of my life. Now let's fast forward. I attend a "business" meeting weekly at CrossFit Central. Jeremy begins the meeting by reminding each of us that we are in control of our destiny. This reminder is not a foreign concept to me. I have heard it many of times before; however, what makes it so unique today was the setting. A "business" meeting. A meeting where we discuss logistics, but also are pushed outside of our comfort zone and asked to be more--To step up to the plate. To get over myself. To make it happen. I don't know about you, but that is absolutely not a meeting I am used to attending.

It's as if a light bulb goes off. I almost get teary eyed because I am overwhelmed with drive, compassion, motivation, and determination to reach my goals, to impact the world through the vehicle CrossFit Central has provided, to take ownership of my current situation, and improve myself daily. I smile at the realization that I work with a team of people that not only want to take fitness to a whole new level in Austin but want to change lives all across the world.

I AM BLESSED.

Destiny

(boot campers in Deep Eddy 6:30AM Tu/Th)

"Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved. " -- William Jennings Bryan

CrossFit Central coaches, clients, friends and family watched "Every Second Counts" at Alamo Drafthouse on Saturday evening. The night was a total blast! The movie epitomizes the quote above. The athletes highlighted during the film are focused, driven, athletic, hard-working, and the list goes on. These athletes do not sit around and wait for their dreams to come true; they make it happen. They do the necessary things day in and day out to win. After watching the movie I was beyond fired up for our trip to California to the Games in a few weeks. CrossFit Central is bringing a stacked team ready to take on 1st and 2nd for male and female and 1st for the Affiliate Team.

Are you taking the necessary steps to fulfill your destiny or are you sitting around, making excuses, and saying "would've, could've, should've?" It's summer time. It's go time. It's time to make it happen.

What is your destiny?
