9lbs is 9lbs BUT...

I came across this picture on Facebook today and WOW...it could not come at more of a perfect timing for myself as well as for the athletes, especially the ladies, I coach.  Muscle does NOT weigh more than fat; 9lbs is 9lbs. However, you can see the from the picture that clearly the 9lb difference looks extremely different.

The caption under the photo read the following:

A reminder that a lower weight is not always the goal! As you can see in this picture…muscle is more dense then fat and is much more appealing. 5 pounds of muscle takes up less space than 5 pounds of fat. This is why it is so important not to fixate on the number on the scale, but rather concentrate on how you look in the mirror instead!

FOCUS: Be cognizant on how your clothes fit and how you look naked. Forget about the scale.
